About

I’m Elias Thorne — a photographer drawn to the quiet intersections of light, culture, and landscape. Based between London and Lisbon, I spend most of the year traveling to document stories that exist in the margins of the everyday.

My work has appeared in National Geographic Traveler, Cereal Magazine, and Kinfolk. I shoot primarily on medium format and 35mm, believing that constraints breed intentionality.

When I’m not behind a lens, I’m likely losing myself in a used bookshop or learning the local word for “thank you.”

MY APPROACH

Photography as Storytelling

Every photograph is a decision — what to include, what to leave out, and where to stand. I believe the most powerful images are found not in extraordinary places, but in the quiet moments between them. My work is driven by patience, curiosity, and a deep respect for the people and landscapes I document.

“Light is the language. I just listen.”
— Elias Thorne
